Emergency Care

MOST EMERGENCY CARE REQUIRES TRAINED VETERINARY STAFF. PLEASE HAVE EMERGENCY CONTACTS ON HAND. THE BEST EMERGENCY CARE IS TO TAKE THE INJURED BIRD TO EXPERIENCED CARERS ASAP. WHEN IN DOUBT, DO NOTHING! PUT THE PARROT IN A WARM, DRY, QUIET, DARKENED AND SAFE PLACE UNTIL YOU CAN REACH VETERINARY/ANIMAL RESCUE ASSISTANCE. PARROTS ARE TOUGH AND CAN OFTEN SURVIVE TRAUMA WITHOUT HUMAN INTERVENTION. INAPPROPRIATE CARE CAN RESULT IN FATALITIES OR EUTHANASIA.

Emergency Incubators

Normal, stressed and very ill

Emergency incubators: Hot water bottles, heating pad

**CAUTION! DO NOT ATTEMPT ANY FIRST AID PROCEDURES IF YOU ARE INEXPERIENCED!**

YOU CAN MAKE THE INJURY WORSE OR CAUSE DEATH! THE BEST THING MAY BE TO DO NOTHING AT ALL!
